First of its kind and the only one in the nation
The Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center is a progressive and beautiful home environment, specializing in three separate service lines: Alzheimer’s dementia certified care, traditional long-term care, and skilled nursing and therapy services. Through a collaborative relationship with Texas Tech University Health Science Center, we have the honor of providing clinical rotations for medical, nursing, pharmacy and therapy/allied health students. This collaboration offers residents and employees the benefit of cutting edge care. Our medical director is a board certified geriatrician, as well as a member of the Texas Tech University Health Science Center Faculty.
The Garrison Center is a place of special caring where a dedicated, professional staff provides exceptional health care services within a person-centered, social environment. We are committed to providing comprehensive care, and the Sears Methodist tradition of meeting the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of every resident is the guiding principle of the Garrison Center. Opened in April 2002, the Garrison Center is the only nursing home on a university campus with an interdisciplinary approach to care and teaching future providers.
The Garrison Center is the first in the country to host and support a multidisciplinary program for students of geriatric medicine. As a result of the collaborative efforts between Sears Methodist and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, we are proud to offer our residents the amazing memory care advancements of The Mildred and Shirley L. Garrison Center, located in Lubbock.
